Mission: Black Mothers in Power seeks to eradicate racial health disparities for Black birthing people and Black babies throughout Delaware. Vision: Black Mothers in Power envisions a state where all Black birthing people are informed about their birthing rights, have autonomy over their reproductive decisions, and are treated equitably in the healthcare system. BMIP center is a safe space for Black families. Offering space for community partners to offer services and resources to the community (Moms Agency, Wilmington Housing Authority, etc.) Providing a space for birth workers to meet with clients Offering opportunities for Doula training and continuing education credits Hosting events and workshops focused on mental, physical, and spiritual well being of pregnant and parenting individuals (Childbirth education, Meet & Greet Doula Match-up, Providing support group spaces for individuals from the community Offering weekly Lactation support to breast and chestfeeding individuals.
