The National Perinatal Task Force (NPTF) is a community of people who have a heart for women and babies and are concerned about the persistent and worsening maternal child health outcomes in the USA.

National Perinatal Task Force

Your participation is critical. People who have heard the statistics, understand that the system is broken and want to make a practical difference in the health of mothers and babies. The NPTF is a grassroots movement that wants to start and grow Perinatal Safe Spots (PSS) in every ‘Materno-Toxic Area” – areas where it is not safe or conducive to being pregnant or parenting young children. The NPTF is a place to share ideas about what’s working and what’s not. The NPTF is here to support YOU supporting women and families.

National Perinatal Task Force - mothers and babies

Our Vision

We believe all people have the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we care for with equitable resources to thrive in community.

Furthermore, with a vision of Reproductive Justice and an equity lens, we believe in Maternal Justice, where even the most marginalized are able to birth with full human rights and self-determination, where we honor the powerful and sacred ability to create new humans, and all childbearing people receive culturally grounded, attentive, quality, loving care.

our Mission

The National Perinatal Task Force is a grassroots movement to start and grow Perinatal Safe Spots (PSS) in every ‘Materno-toxic Area’ in the USA, in order to eliminate racial and class disparities in birth outcomes, and to create equity and power in maternal child health care.

Guided by fierce love for our families and communities, the National Perinatal Task Force seeks to dismantle the braid of oppression impacting communities of color. We recognize strength and abundance in the breadth of our intersectional collective in order to harness the limitless power of our lived experiences.

our approach

To model the world we are birthing, we use Collective Organizing to shift the paradigm of reproductive health by addressing the root causes of inequity, building collective power, and advancing liberation for all.

We transform the world via Praxis, where our collective practices as perinatal providers guide our methods for transforming the world and making social change.

In solidarity with our partners in movements for Reproductive Justice and all forms of social justice, we work in our local communities to advance Maternal Justice and collectively birth a more just and loving world.

National Perinatal Task Force - What is a Perinatal Safe Spot flyer

A Perinatal Safe Spot is a physical or virtual space, or both –  a place where women and families can safely connect and find support.

A Perinatal Safe Spot is also a place to utilize the four tenets of The JJ Way® model of care which enable ANYBODY who cares to make a positive difference in a pregnant or parenting woman’s life.

The tenets are to provide ACCESS, CONNECTIONS, KNOWLEDGE and EMPOWERMENT in order to increase the opportunities for a positive birth outcome.

Your donations will help us to support the women attending our Easy Access Clinic for their maternity care needs.

Thank you so much! Your generosity supports access to healthy pregnancies and babies for ALL people, and is tax-deductible.
